2007 Community Impact
- A family in Geneseo had tree limbs menacing the roof removed, and furnace checked. Fall work included replacing roof. The materials and labor were at no cost to the homeowners.
- A single female in Cambridge, previous recipient, received a new water heater, toilet and door trim.
- A single, disabled female in Geneseo, previous recipient, had a picture window replaced, new storm door, window and garage trim was scraped and repainted.
- A single female in Cambridge had garage roof resheeted and shingled and porch ceiling was repainted.
- The Geneseo Food Pantry purchased their own materials, but received free labor to install replacement windows, landscaping, redesign of a gate, and pouring of a new portion of sidewalk.
- A single, disabled female in Geneseo had termite damage to garage repaired, including new sill plate and garage door trim, as well as new garage door and outlet for door opener.
- An elderly female and son in rural Geneseo had extensive brush and yard cleanup.
- An elderly female in Cambridge had front steps and handrails replaced, two windows and front door replaced, along with interior floor repair. Fall work included installation of egress steps.
- The New Life Family Services Center, between Geneseo and Cambridge, had exterior trim painting and landscaping, CO and smoke detector installations, handrails to the front door and basement, storm door repair, screen repairs, and doorway fill-in.
- A single female in Geneseo received a new roof, eight replacement windows, siding, new storm door, attic insulation, gutters, exterior trim painting, and shed torn down. Fall work included installation of four more replacement windows.
- A young family with children in Geneseo had a doorway filled in, received a storm door, and an outside electrical outlet. Fall work included four replacement windows.
- An elderly couple in Geneseo received a wheelchair ramp so that the elderly male could go outside, which he had not done for six months.
- An elderly couple in Andover received a wheelchair ramp so that the elderly female could get outside for medical visits.
- 8 ramps were cleaned and treated.
- 9 carbon monoxide detectors were installed, along with 9 smoke detectors, in seven homes of previous recipients. Eight additional smoke detectors were made operable.
- A 16-year-old Geneseo High School student living in Atkinson had a wheelchair ramp built after an auto accident resulted in a pelvis broken in five places and considerable rehabilitation.
- A single, elderly male in Geneseo had trees removed that were buckling sidewalk, received a new sidewalk, egress steps installed, and two ceilings were replaced with drywall.
- A teacher from Geneseo High School diagnosed with ALS, living in Geneseo, had a wheelchair ramp and bathroom grab bars installed and bathroom door widened.
- A couple in Atkinson received replacement windows, a door, insulation and steps at no cost.
- A disabled male, previous recipient, and wife had a stool repaired with new flange and wax ring, and ramp modifications at no cost to them.
- An elderly female with a disabled adult daughter, in Atkinson, had a wheelchair ramp installed.
