2010 Rebuilding Day Impact

A Gulf War-era veteran, along with his wife with vision difficulties and four children, received whole house insulation, a complete re-siding of the house, two storm doors and front and back platform steps.
A Vietnam-era veteran and his wife with physical disabilities received two new storm doors and gutters.
A veteran who lost his employment in the recent economic downturn received assitance with insulation and new interior walls, subfloors, electric and plumbing updates
In two separate households, elderly single females each received a new roof.
A single mother of two received new windows, storm doors and insulation.
A single mother received a new roof.
While wheelchair ramps were not treated on Rebuilding Day due to weather, a total of 18 ramps were safety-inspected and weather-treated in the weeks surrounding the day.

Prior to Rebuilding Day, 108 volunteers contributed 438 hours to build seven additional wheelchair ramps and complete seven home modification projects for homeowners with mobility issues. Additional ramps are also planned
2009 Rebuilding Day Impact
A deaf, elderly female received 10 new windows and a new front door.-
A blind, elderly female received new porch railings and support, new roof gutters and flashing, a re-painted shed and yard work.

A Vietnam-era veteran and his wife received the first part of their renovation including the construction of a sloped roof over the kitchen, new siding and a rehabilitated bathroom. This project was funded through a grant from Heroes at Home/Sears Holdings.

Two wheelchair ramps were re-located to new locations

Five wheelchair ramps were weatherized for the coming year.

Nearly 120 volunteers, ranging from teens to seniors, volunteered in Atkinson, Andover, Cambridge and Geneseo

The first-ever project in Orion School District was held in Andover, with the support of volunteers from Osco Community Church

Groups included, First Lutheran Men in Mission (Geneseo), First United Methodist Church Men's Group (Geneseo), Osco Community Church, Cambridge High School FFA, Geneseo High School Key Club.
2008 Community Impact
- An elderly man in rural Geneseo, suffering from a degenerative muscle disease, received a wheelchair ramp; the ramp was removed after his recovery.
- A single, elderly female in Geneseo received a new roof for her mobile home.
- A single, elderly female in Cambridge had a door painted and gutter adjusted over the door.
- A single female in Cambridge had garage roof resheeted and shingled and porch ceiling was repainted.
- The Geneseo Food Pantry purchased their own materials, but received free labor to install shelves and repair and repaint windows
- Through a Heroes at Home grant for $20,000 from Sears Holdings, an elderly widow of an Army veteran and a son who lives with her, received an extreme home makeover, including installation of laminate flooring in four rooms.
- A young single female with a one-year-old from Geneseo received a tuckpointed chimney, a rebuilt front porch floor and the fill-in of a cistern.
- The Henry County Children's Adocacy Center had volunteers caulk and paint.
- A single female in Atkinson with three children received roofing, plumbing work, door replacements, handrails and other safety features and significant painting.
- Through a Wells Fargo Housing Foundation grant for $10,000, a husband and wife with disabilities and four children in Geneseo, received a new roof with gutters, 17 replacements windows, new steps to porch, interior painting and fill in of cistern. An additional $5,000 grant from Lowes provided more windows and interior lighting.
- 10 wheelchair ramps in Geneseo, Colona, Atkinson and Andover were repaired, cleaned and treated.
- A young couple in Geneseo received five new windows.
- A single female in Cambridge received roof repair and replacement of a storage shed.
- An elderly female Geneseo female received home modifications to her bathroom and office to prevent falls and some handyman jobs around the house and yard.
- A disabled, elderly female in Atkinson received roof repairs and a ramp.
- An elderly female in Atkinson with a disabled adult daughter received a new roof on her home and garage.
- An elderly female in Atkinson received a wheelchair ramp
