Did you know RTGC can earn a penny every time you search the Internet? Or that a percentage of every purchase you make online can support our cause? It can!
GoodSearch.com is a Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, get quality search results from Yahoo! and help RTGC.
GoodShop is a new online shopping mall which donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause. Hundreds of great stores, including Amazon. Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble, have teamed up with GoodShop, and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting RTGC. DONATE TODAY! Your online donation can put a wheelchair ramp on the home of a house-bound senior, allowing him to leave his residence for doctor visits, shopping or just to visit with his family. Donations also help us install new energy-efficient windows and doors, increase insulation, repair roof leaks and update dangerous electric and/or plumbing. Help a low-income homeowner live in warmth and safety.

Nationally, 28,000,000 Americans live in substandard housing and it is only going to get worse in this economic crisis.
Locally, however, you can help your neighbors live in a safe home. Rebuilding Together Geneseo/Cambridge champions area low-income homeowners - the elderly, persons with disabilities and families with children - by performing free-of-charge home repairs and modifications so they may continue to live in a family home in warmth and safety. With your gift of $25 or more our capacity can grow.
Our repairs and modifications give immediate impact to our homeowners:
- John and Donna and their four children enjoy a safer and more comfortable home after we replaced 17 windows, two storm doors and attic insulation. As a bonus, these improvements lowered their utility bills, freeing funds for other necessities.
- One elderly gentleman left his home for the first time in six months after we installed a wheelchair ramp at his home.
- *Through our modification program, our elderly neighbors continue to live in their family homes. Emily wrote to us after last year’s workday:
“Thank you for all the work you did on my home. With my medical problems,
I would never have been able to stay in my own home without your help.”
As the only organization providing these free-of-charge home repair and modifications, we have seen the need for our services continue to grow. Thankfully our communities strengthen our mission through volunteer labor, in-kind donations and grants. Even with this generosity of our volunteers and sponsors, we discover more need than we can fill and have witnessed an increase in referrals and scope of work for our homeowners.
Rebuilding Together is a good investment!
- For each $1 you donate, Rebuilding Together provides $4 of market value! By working with community volunteers and by building strong relationships with area businesses we provide four times the impact for each dollar donated, a value of over $600,000 over 14 years. Rebuilding Together is a wise philanthropic investment.
- We are the only organization providing this service. No other agency provides free of charge home repairs to those in need.
- We are the leader in meeting the needs of low-income homeowners. As the economy falters, your donation to Rebuilding Together combined with our expertise in home repair, energy efficiency and home modifications is a cost efficient way to help neighbors in need and to ensure seniors age safely at home.
- We directly impact lives through our programs. Through our home repairs, home modifications and wheelchair ramp installations we positively impact hundreds of lives annually through clients and families of homeowners and nonprofit facilities. You can make a difference for so many neighbors with one gift to Rebuilding Together.
15th Annual Rebuilding Day is Saturday, April 25
Your gift of $25 or more to Rebuilding Together Geneseo/Cambridge will help us provide services to the rising number of low-income homeowners in our communities. Our repair and modification services provide plumbing, electrical and heating updates, fresh paint, roof repairs, safer steps and porches, grab bars and handrails, safe walking surfaces and much more. In addition, our wheelchair ramp program allows persons with disabilities to perform the most basic task of leaving their home for medical appointments, family visits or shopping.
Your contribution of $25, $100 or $500 stays
in Geneseo/Cambridge/Atkinson and will go to improving
the lives of elderly and low-income families!
Thank you for supporting us in the past – whether through volunteer hours, an in-kind donation or a monetary gift. Your support has helped impact 181 homeowners and 3 nonprofit facilities to create a $645,425 fair market value of improvements. But beyond the numbers, your support has helped us create real, sustainable solutions for the low-income homeowners we serve.
Sincerely,
Joni Conrad
Executive Director
P.S. Again, many low-income homeowners face rising food and energy costs and skyrocketing healthcare expenses, leaving them with less and less disposable income for needed home repairs, energy saving updates and safety modifications during these challenging economic times. Rebuilding Together Geneseo/Cambridge helps these neighbors remain safely in their homes by providing free-of-charge home repairs and modifications. Your donation before our 15th Rebuilding Day, Saturday, April 25, will help us provide services to local homeowners in need.
