National Rebuilding Day a success!

  • See photos from Rebuilding Day
  • It was a beautiful day to help a neighbor. Over 135 volunteers showed up on April 30th, 2011 to rebuild 4 homes. It was a bit overwhelming for RTGC newest Executive Director. I was so happy that the weather cooperated and volunteers showed up, stated Sarah Snyder.
  • This year we helped two veterans who both have served our country during a time of conflict. A disabled husband and his wife were assisted as well as a single mother with two small children.
  • Two other projects were completed prior and post rebuilding day.
  • Those individuals were a single mom with health issues who needed a new roof and a widower of a veteran who was in need of bathroom modifications.
  • Thank you is not enough to those who assisted in Rebuilding Day #17!

Patton named national Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to Greg Patton on being named Rebuilding Together's national Volunteer of the Year. Nominations for the award were open to the more than 200 Rebuilding Together affiliates through-out the United States. Greg was honored for his award at Rebuilding Together's national conference in mid-November.

Volunteer of the Year

While Greg is a volunteer willing to do anything asked of him, he was specially noted for his hard work and assistance in Rebuilding Together Geneseo/Cambridge's wheelchair ramp program. Greg not only pre-builds many ramp modules days ahead of a scheduled ramp installation but also helps on the day of the installation. Thanks to his quick work and innovations with the ramp projects, the ramp crew can now install a typical ramp with a morning of on-site work.

Congratulations to Greg on the this honor!
